One-to-one tuition for London families, without anyone crossing the city in rush hour. Primary, KS3, GCSE and 11+ preparation for London's selective schools — taught online at a fixed hour every week.
London has the deepest pool of private tutors in the country and also the worst logistics for using them. A tutor two boroughs away means an hour on the Tube each way for a one-hour lesson, or a home-visit premium that pushes an hourly rate towards £60. Families end up choosing whoever is geographically convenient rather than whoever is actually best for their child.
Online removes that constraint entirely. Your child sits down at 5pm, the tutor is there, and at 6pm they are doing something else. No travel, no weather, no cancelled sessions because the Central line is down.
Unlike a county with a single 11+ test, London is a patchwork. Different boroughs run different tests, the fully selective boroughs each have their own arrangements, and the independent sector largely uses the ISEB Common Pre-test on its own timetable. Two families a mile apart can be preparing for genuinely different exams.
That matters for tutoring, because generic 11+ practice is a poor use of a year. Tell us the specific schools on your list and we will prepare for those tests rather than for 11+ in the abstract.
A simplified overview. Selective-school arrangements change from year to year. Always confirm the current registration window, test date and format directly with the school or local authority before relying on them.
| Area | Arrangement | What that means for preparation |
|---|---|---|
| Redbridge | Two grammar schools sharing one borough test, set by GL Assessment — two one-hour multiple-choice papers, one covering English and verbal reasoning, the other maths and non-verbal reasoning | All four disciplines are examined, so preparation has to be genuinely broad rather than maths-heavy |
| Sutton | The borough with the most grammar schools in London. Consortium schools share a first-stage Selective Eligibility Test, followed by school-specific second-stage papers | A two-stage run. Stage one is a qualifying hurdle; stage two is where places are actually decided |
| Kingston | Two selective schools, one boys' and one girls', running their own entrance exams | School-specific preparation matters more here than borough-wide practice |
| Independent schools | Largely the ISEB Common Pre-test, usually sat in Year 6 or Year 7, plus school-specific papers and interviews | An earlier timetable than the state grammars — families are often caught out by how early registration closes |
| Everywhere else | Comprehensive intake, with banding tests at some schools | Focus shifts to KS2 SATs, a strong primary foundation and a smooth transition into Year 7 |
A one-hour lesson costs one hour. No Tube, no traffic, no home-visit premium on the hourly rate.
£40–£60 an hour is common in central and west London. Three hour-long sessions a week with us is £60 a month.
Because our tutors are in Pakistan, 4–5 hours ahead, the 4pm to 7pm weekday slots every London family wants are genuinely available.
Tell us your target schools and we prepare for those tests, rather than running generic reasoning practice for a year.
For the many Pakistani families across Redbridge, Newham, Waltham Forest, Hounslow and Ealing, a tutor who can switch to Urdu when it helps.
Working parents can watch a full lesson on a Sunday rather than trying to be home for a 5pm session.
