Maths, English, Science and 11+ preparation — taught one-to-one from Reception through to GCSE, on the AQA, Edexcel or OCR specification your child's school actually uses.
Maths, English, Science and 11+ preparation — from Reception through to Year 11.
| Level | Year groups | Typical ages | What we focus on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary (KS1 & KS2) | Reception – Year 6 | 5–11 | Number fluency, reading comprehension, writing, SATs preparation |
| 11+ preparation | Year 4 – Year 6 | 8–11 | Verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, maths and English papers |
| KS3 | Year 7 – Year 9 | 11–14 | Closing gaps from primary, building the foundations GCSE assumes |
| GCSE | Year 10 – Year 11 | 14–16 | Full specification coverage, past papers, exam technique, grade targets |
At GCSE, the specification matters more than most parents realise. Two students in the same year group studying the same subject can face genuinely different content and very different question styles depending on which board their school entered them for. We teach to the board your child is actually sitting.
If you are not sure which board your child's school uses, it is usually printed on their exercise book or revision guide, and the school office will tell you in a phone call. Send it to us and we will match a tutor who teaches that specification day to day.
Alongside the core subjects above we also tutor History and Geography at KS3 and GCSE. They do not have their own pages yet, but the service is identical — a dedicated tutor, weekly written reports and recorded lessons. Message us with the exam board and topics and we will match a specialist.
In Maths and the Sciences, students are entered for either Foundation tier (grades 1–5) or Higher tier (grades 4–9). It is a decision the school usually makes in Year 10 or early Year 11, and it has real consequences: a Foundation entry caps the achievable grade at 5, while a Higher entry risks an unclassified result if a student is not ready for it.
Tell us your child's tier and we teach to it. If your child is borderline and you want to push for a Higher entry, tell us that too — it changes what a tutor prioritises over the next six months.
| Plan | Sessions | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 3 × 1-hour sessions per week | £60 / month | Steady support in one subject alongside school |
| Intensive | 5 × 1-hour sessions per week | £100 / month | Exam years, catch-up, or two subjects at once |
Message us with your child's year group and what their last school report said. We will tell you honestly where an hour a week would do the most good.
